Global Vice President, Health & Nutrition

Are you a recognized authority in health and nutrition?  General Mills is seeking an Executive Leader for the GMI Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition to advance a proactive health, nutrition & regulatory vision and agenda for General Mills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with GMI businesses / brands to drive health innovation and grow market share
• Direct nutrition research and nutrition regulatory affairs
• Manage organization and people development for the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition
• Oversee internal & external health and nutrition scientific collaborations across GMI Businesses
• Develop and maintain NGO, government, agency and trade association relationships
• Maintain awareness of changes in global food industry regulations affecting General Mills
• Monitor external activities likely to impact GMI; interpret and advise the business
• Assist business divisions with creative solutions to regulatory issues
• Influence the formation of regulation in key global markets, i.e., US, Europe & Asia
• Spearhead GMI Health, Nutrition and Regulatory communications
• Build influencer and 3rd party relationships
• Develop global health professional strategy
• Support GMI businesses in building health professional communications
• Lead communication of GMI scientific research results
• Support GMI health and nutrition public relations/media/agency interactions
• Provide support to GMI Corporate Child Advertising Review Board
• Design and provide internal nutrition & health training
• Assist Corporation and Divisions on Nutrition & Regulatory Issues Management
• Serve as GMI health & nutrition spokesperson
• Provide internal health & nutrition consultancy to senior GMI leadership
• In collaboration with Corporate Communications, prepare and review key messages, position statements, Q&As, press and media responses
• Appropriately safeguard the reputation of the business and ensure that all nutrition & regulatory compliance inquiries and complaints are responded to in a timely manner
• Proactively recommend and initiate health improvement and measurement programs on GMI product portfolio
• Evaluate and interpret corporate marketing communications for appropriate nutritional messaging and compliance with existing and pending regulatory requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Food Science, Medicine or closely related field
• 10+ years’ relevant experience, preferably within the food industry
• Recognized internally & externally as an authority in health, nutrition and regulatory affairs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered and/or Licensed Dietitian with academic leadership experience preferred
